SUBJECT: PCSA FY2010 : 2007 Equalized Valuation and Municipal Support for
Library Service
With the publication of the Certification of the Table of Equalized Valuation
for 2007 in October 2007, each library can determine the amount of municipal
support necessary during 2008 to achieve particular per capita state library
aid categories ($.50 to $1.50). The support may include dedicated tax
payments in those counties where the municipality contributes to the
support of a county library system, expenses incurred by the municipality in
support of the public library not specifically appropriated to the
library (these expenses must be documented), and the budgeted appropriation.
The total municipal support during 2008 is divided by the 2007 Equalized
Valuation in calculating the per capita aid to be paid in October 2009.
Based on the 2007 Equalized Valuation for your municipality
( $683,212,000), the minimum municipal support needed for each
category is as follows:
To earn $.50 per capita is $1,699
To earn $.75 per capita is $136,642
To earn $1.00 per capita is $170,803
To earn $1.25 per capita is $227,737
To earn $1.50 per capita is $341,606
For municipalities reporting on the State fiscal year, the total municipal
support during FY2009 is divided by the 2007 Equalized valuation in
calculating the per capita aid to be paid in October 2010 .
It is not possible for the State Library to estimate the apportionment
of per capita aid for those libraries which are members of a county
library. The additional amounts expended by the county library which are
credited to the member municipalities in their total expenses also cannot
be calculated as it varies from year to year.

To earn $1.25 per capita is $336,438
To earn $1.50 per capita is $504,657
For municipalities reporting on the State fiscal year, the total municipal
support during FY2009 is divided by the 2007 Equalized valuation in
calculating the per capita aid to be paid in October 2010 .
It is not possible for the State Library to estimate the apportionment
of per capita aid for those libraries which are members of a county
library. The additional amounts expended by the county library which are
credited to the member municipalities in their total expenses also cannot
be calculated as it varies from year to year.

( $933,029,035), the minimum municipal support needed for each
category is as follows:
To earn $.50 per capita is $3,258
To earn $.75 per capita is $186,606
To earn $1.00 per capita is $233,257
To earn $1.25 per capita is $311,009
To earn $1.50 per capita is $466,515
