Library Director Resources
NJ State Library New Directors Orientation
This two-day orientation workshop is held annually for new public library directors, typically in February. Registrants must attend BOTH days. The workshop will concentrate on the following areas: Library Finance, Per Capita State Aid, Budgeting, Library Law, Library Marketing, Library Boards, E-reading in Libraries and more. There will also be an overview of services offered by the New Jersey State Library and the Talking Book & Braille Center. This is a great opportunity for new directors to learn the basics about their positions and to network with State Library personnel, other library professionals and new library directors from around the state.
The previous workshop was held on February 22 & 29, 2012 at the New Jersey State Library. Below you will find some downloadable resources from the 2011 & 2012 workshops.
