Benefits of a NJ resident library card

  • Use of computers and databases while visiting the State Library
  • Borrowing of one item from selected collections

We encourage all New Jersey residents to register for a library card from their local public libraries. Local library membership typically includes access to books, movies, music, eBooks, databases, and other services.

New Jersey residents and public libraries also have access to statewide databases from Jerseyclicks.

Borrower responsibility for print materials

Borrowers are responsible for any items not returned to, or received by, the library.

Borrowed material must be picked up in person at the State Library, and returned directly to us in person or by mail. While we accept returns by U. S. mail, the borrower is still responsible for any mailed returns that are not received by the library.
