NJ State Library on the Go at Sparta Public Library - December 13 , 2011
The next stop on the NJ State Library on the Go Tour is Sparta Public Library, 22 Woodport Road, Sparta, NJ 07871 on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Come visit the library for an informal "meet and greet" with the NJSL Library Development Bureau and BTOP staff from 10 am - 11 am, coffee and brunch at 9:30 am. NJSL staff will fill you in on the newest projects that are being developed at the State Library. We’ll also answer your questions and talk about services and programs that we can help you with.
NJSL staff that will appear at this event include Peggy Cadigan, Acting State Librarian & Head of Library Development; Michele Stricker, Deputy Director of Library Development and Preservation Management; David Lisa, Urban Libraries and Adult Services Specialist; Sharon Rawlins, Youth Services Consultant; Jennifer Podolsky, Business Outreach Specialist; and Natasha Peter, the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) Compliance Officer. Afterwards, Sparta Public Library staff will provide a tour of the library.
Sparta Public Library offers many innovative services including top notch public access computing, Kindle Fire and iPad circulation, Freegal online music services, library cards on handheld devices and public faxing services. They also indicate that they were the first public library in the nation to circulate Kindles. Sparta has a collection of over 60,000 books, music CD's, DVD's, graphic novels and downloadable audio books. They also consistently scores high on the HAPLR Report, which measures library use in communities.
