Show Your Business Clients How They Can Use ReferenceUSA
The New Jersey State Library is sponsoring free, face-to-face training sessions designed to help you show your business clients how they can use ReferenceUSA. These sessions will be conducted by Bill Loges of Infogroup and will give you the information necessary to show new and established entrepreneurs and business owners how to start, grow, manage and improve their organizations by utilizing ReferenceUSA.
Some business-oriented topics to be covered include:
- Researching prospects and prospective clients
- Locating hard to find vendors, both locally and nationally
- Networking with other businesses in your area or in your industry
- Developing relationships with related businesses for co-branding opportunities
- Understanding community demographics
- Surveying locations for expansion
- Conducting competitive analysis
- Locating subject manager experts and professional services
- Sourcing new employees
- Finding investors and venture capitalists
- Planning delivery routes and service areas
Bill will also discuss the ways that ReferenceUSA can be used as part of a career searching strategy.
Some career searching topics to be covered include:
- Assembling a network of references and referrers
- Utilizing the database to find key persons at businesses
- Building datasets of potential employers based on skill set
- How to prepare for interviews and interactions through research using this database
At the conclusion of each class, Bill will discuss ways to promote and market your library by using ReferenceUSA.
The run time for each session will be two hours, with time for questions and answers.
